AI: Defense primes doubling down on agentic-AI practices
GDIT was named an OpenAI Select Partner for federal AI modernization — covering Codex-driven legacy-system migration (COBOL/Fortran) and agentic workflow automation. This reinforces a pattern already flagged this week: large government-IT primes are actively building agentic-AI practices around defense and federal systems, a reference point for AI-planning consultancy positioning with defense-adjacent programs.

Crypto: Institutional yield appetite shows early signs of cooling
Staked-crypto ETFs have grown to $5.8B of the $140B crypto ETF market, and BlackRock’s yield-bearing ETH ETF (ETHB) is live — evidence that institutions are shifting from passive holding toward yield-generating treasury strategies. But two fresh signals suggest the move isn’t one-directional: DeFi TVL is down 24% over 30 days, and a major Asia-based ETH treasury consortium has paused its allocation amid ETF outflows. Useful context before weighing any partial-yield tranche against a pure hold-and-evaluate stance.

Sustainability: Malaysia’s CRESS scheme becomes the bilateral-PPA template
Malaysia’s CRESS scheme has reached 1.3GW committed capacity, bypassing traditional quota bidding through bilateral power purchase agreements — driven largely by hyperscale data centers (DayOne 500MW, Bridge Data Centers 400MW) locking in 21-year green PPAs directly with solar developers. This is the closest real-world mechanism for structuring a future crypto-mining-plus-solar offtake deal that sidesteps Singapore’s high electricity tariffs entirely.
